Da, neural fidbek se koristio odavno, ali ovo nije neural fidbek. On se oslanjao na samo nekoliko elektroda u mozgu. Ovde se pokušava razviti tehnologija implanta koja omogućava povezivanje desetina hiljada neurona. I to ne samo očitavanja, kao u klasičnom neural fidbeku, nego i upis, tj stimulacija neurona. Problem je što bilo kakva iole kompleksnija aktivnost mozga obuhvata koordinisanu aktivnost veoma mnogo neurona. Zbog toga je nemoguće dobiti sliku onoga što se u njemu dešava ako elektrode nisu spojene sa veoma mnogo neurona na raznim mestima mozga. U pitanje je potpuno drugi, daleko veći red veličine povezivanja, a time i "kvaliteta" te veze, tj onoga što se tako može postići. Jeste zastrašujuće, ali ja ne vidim grešku u njegovom rezonovanju, ma kako se ambivalentno inače osećao u vezi tako opasnih eksperimenata.

Više hiljada neurona, istovremeno i NEZAVISNO po svakoj od više hiljada međusobno izolovanih neuro veza? Zaista nisam čuo za to. Međutim ako je nešto slično i rađeno u posebnim laboratorijskim uslovima, verovatno je u pitanju bila ogromna prateća oprema, fantastična cena i vrlo rudimentaran procesing i interpretacija dobijenih signala. Maskov Neuralink pokušava razvoj kompletne nove tehnologije autonomnih, baterijskih, MIKRO implanata ogromnog broja nezavisnih neuro kanala, koji su toliko mali da mogu da se ugrade direktno ispod kože i da se na čoveku ništa spolja ne primećuje. Pogledaj majmuna na slici. Slobodan je, nije povezan ni sa čim, niti izgleda da na njemu ima bilo šta dodato, a ipak je u vezi sa računarom i igra Pong brže nego što može prosečan čovek. Iako je pred njima još dug put, ovo jeste revolucija. Uz to, oni paralelno razvijaju i posebna integrisana kola, odgovarajuće softvere i pre svega se bave bitno detaljnijim mapiranjem mozga i njegovih funkcija.

For those of you concerned about the birds...Christian Moullec, from France, rescues and hand raises orphan birds. He then teaches them to follow his micro-light so they can learn safe migratory routes and go back to nature. His is foremost a conservationist and taking some tourists onboard would help finance his efforts I imagine. No abuse there, just knowledge and dedication. The canadian Bill Lishman pioneered flying with birds in this manner and the film “Fly Away Home” was inspired by his work.

Na današnji dan, 6. septembra 1522., pre tačno 500 godina, u Špansku luku Sanlúcar de Barrameda, uplovio je jedini preostali brod Magelanove ekspedicije oko sveta. To je bio konačni dokaz da je Zemlja okrugla. Od 256 ljudi na pet brodova, ceo put je prešlo i vratilo se živo samo njih 18. Magelan je ubijen na Madagaskaru, a Viktorija je jedini brod koji je završio čitav kružni put oko Zemlje.

The voyage started with a crew of about 265 men aboard five ships, however only 18 men returned alive on Victoria, while many others had deserted. Many of the men died of malnutrition. At the beginning of the voyage, Luis de Mendoza was her captain. On 2 April 1520, after establishing a settlement in Puerto San Julian in Patagonia, a fierce mutiny involving three captains broke out but was ultimately quelled.[5] Antonio Pigafetta's and other reports state that Luis de Mendoza and Gaspar Quesada, captain of Concepcion, were executed and their remains hung on gallows on the shore.[5][6]
Juan de Cartagena, captain of San Antonio, was marooned on the coast. According to Pigafetta, after Magellan's death on 27 April 1521, at the Battle of Mactan, remnants of the fleet tried to retrieve his body without success. Thereafter, Duarte Barbosa, a Portuguese man who had sided with Magellan in facing the mutiny, and João Serrão were elected leaders of the expedition. On 1 May 1521, they were invited by Rajah Humabon of Cebu to a banquet ashore to receive a gift for the king of Spain. At the banquet, most of the crew were killed or poisoned, including Duarte Barbosa and João Serrão, who the natives wanted to exchange for Western weapons, but was left behind by the remaining crew. Pilot João Carvalho, who had survived the trap, then became the captain of Victoria. In August, near Borneo he was deposed and Juan Sebastián Elcano became captain for the remainder of the expedition.
Out of an initial crew of 260 people, only 18 returned to Seville with the Victoria. Others had sailed back with the Santiago, which deserted near the Strait of Magellan. Yet others would return in the following months and years after having been made prisoner by the Portuguese.
