Why does Egypt hate Hamas and Palestinians?
Mohamed Abdel-Maksoud:
Considering the pure facts:
1) since the 25 Jan uprising, there has been frequent terroristic assaults on the Egyptian army troops in Sinai peninsula (the region bordering Gaza). Off the top of my head I can recall 50+ Egyptian soldiers assassinated in this period,
2) there are hundreds (if not thousands) of tunnels connecting Gaza to Sinai (which Egypt has semi-ignored since 2009 to relieve the siege on Gaza without receiving blame), these tunnels can be used to transfer basic needs of Gaza people from Sinai as well as transferring militants and arms in the opposite direction,
3) the assaults increased dramatically after Morsi, the brotherhood man, was deposed,
4) "Hamas is a wing of the brotherhood movement in Palestine" - Hamas Movement Pact article 2, and
5) Hamas has been ruling Gaza since 2008, they administrate all tunnel operations (it is said that there is a designated tunnels minister.)
Egyptians (at least the majority of them, myself included) deduce from these facts that Hamas (directly or indirectly) is meddling in our internal affairs and try to threaten our sovereignty over Sinai, a land for which a lot of blood was shed to liberate. This explains our attitude.

Although it is true that Palestinians have traditionally not been very welcome in most Arab countries, it’s a rather extreme generalization to say “Egypt hates Palestinians”. It would be much more a...

Why Egypt doesn't like Palestinians?
Mohammed Adam:
I am Egyptian and I can tell you it started from them. Egyptians can be forgiven and forget what they did to us easily But their disgusting behavior keeps getting in the way. Their own entitlement and ego. In this war, we sent them a lot of humanitarian aids , they sold it in the market 10 time of its real price. Some made a video to complain about the quantity because they didn’t used to eat like that before the war kicked off. Once an Egyptian trucker in front of Rafah crossing point. Showing his solidarity. He entered and got out his truck is destroyed and his friend got beaten up by bunch of Gazans and said in a video that Israel was right in what they did to them. We got thousands to hospitals but we still bad. Also they started it the war and want us to mobilize our military to fight for them. When the ordinary people step up and say no never going to happen. They approached the Egyptian soldiers on the border and calling them names.
